			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>While walking barefoot through a paddy field in Korea, Swiss engineer Karl Muller realised that his back pain, which he suffered with, was quite a bit better. He did some additional research and discovered that the Masai tribesmen of Africa did not suffer from bad backs. They are also well known for their excellent posture.</p>
<p>Putting two and two together, Muller deduced that walking barefoot on soft, yielding ground was significantly better for your back and joints than walking on firm surfaces. He decided to try to come up with a shoe which would mimic the effects of walking in this manner on a soft surface such as sand or grass.</p>
<p>The end result was the Masai Barefoot Technology (MBT) shoe. In fact, according to the company website, it is so different to a traditional shoe that it deserves the name of &ldquo;anti-shoe&rdquo;.</p>
<p>MBT shoes have a specially engineered curved sole without a heel, which promotes a gentle rolling action when your foot makes contact with the ground. Just like walking barefoot on grass in fact. The use of materials of different densities in different areas also contributes to the effect by further reducing impact shock and jarring.</p>
<p>Scientific studies have confirmed that this is genuinely better for your back and joints. As well as better posture, there are other proven benefits. For example, whilst walking normally in <a href="http://hubpages.com/hub/MBT-Masai-Barefoot-Technology-Shoes" target='_blank'>MBT shoes</a>, the wearer&rsquo;s muscles will be used for longer (when compared to similar walking in traditional footwear). 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When Marcia Kilgore, an ex personal trainer, discovered that her lifestyle just didn&rsquo;t allow her sufficient time to visit the gym on a regular basis, she decided to do something about it. In collaboration with the London South Bank University (LSBU) she dreamt up a range of fitness shoes called Fitflops.</p>
<p>These have a specially engineered &ldquo;microwobbleboard&rdquo; sole which is divided into three separate zones. Each of the zones uses a different material to produce the microwobbleboard effect. The heel section is fabricated from a high density material which cushions against shocks when walking. The central zone, from the arch to just behind the toes, is manufactured from a low density material and the toe section is made using a medium density material which helps to maintain speed, pace and variation.</p>
<p>The net effect is that the duration of muscle usage is extended when walking normally &ndash; by up to 16%. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My girlfriend and I are preparing to go on a hiking trip to Glacier National Park.  We are going to do some camping along with staying at various of|a range of|an assortment of|a mixture of|different|diverse|numerous|a number of|several} little hotels and inns.  I have been involved with doing some aerobic exercise my whole life span, either by walking or biking.  I even had a <a href="http://afaa.com" target='_blank'>personal trainer</a>.  When I told my husband the plans to go on a hiking trip with my friend he laughed.  He does not feel either one of us will last two life span.  I shared this with my friend, who is in shape, but does not consistently do any aerobic exercise; she took this as a challenge.</p>
<p>She started searching into the greatest aerobic exercise to prepare for our trip.  She looked into every <a href="http://nichechick.com" target='_blank'>niche</a> and cranny.  I tried calling her during our lunch breaks, but could never locate her at her desk since she was out walking.  Two evenings a week she went to aerobic exercise classes.  I went over to her apartment and found 3 DVD&rsquo;s on various of|a range of|an assortment of|a mixture of|different|diverse|numerous|a number of|several} aerobic exercise programs.  The woman is obsessed.  We discussed that when we first programmed the trip we were going to hike for short distances every day to take in the beautiful surroundings, nowadays she was searching at this as an aerobic exercise challenge! I told my husband that this was my revenge for his challenge, a whole new wardrobe.  He does not mind since he thinks I look terrific.</p>
<p>As the date of our trip approaches we are getting more and more energized concerning going on our adventure.  Both of us look and feel better since we increased our aerobic exercise.  If you hear concerning two women racing around the hiking trials in Glacier National Park, I am one of them.</p>
