Believe it or not, when you were born, your parents did not get to choose your size. (...)

Believe it or not, when you were born, your parents did not get to choose your size. Your parents didn't get to choose your sex, hair color or any other physical characteristic that makes you… you. They didn't choose your weight either, or your bone structure. They just couldn't take over that job; it was hard enough bringing you into the world.

Being overweight seems to be a pre-determined fate for so many Americans. An estimated 64% of Americans are considered overweight. That equates to over 125 million people that are overweight. Or you can call a spade a spade, which equates to over 125 million FAT Americans, which also means that there are a lot of very unattractive Americans.

Supposedly being overweight has been the result of you being lazy, unhealthy, unhappy, selfish, greedy, and unattractive. NO, it hasn't been the result of any of those reasons! Overweight Americans are often some of the most tenacious career-conscious individuals. They are overworked and often fall into weight problems because they are working long hours, without enough rest and exercise! Approximately ½ of the other 36% of thinner adults choose to condemn those Americans who aren't as fortunate to have a fast metabolism and the luxury of time to exercise. These very adults have the time, because they also find the time to ridicule the other 64% of the population that need to lose a few pounds.

This all may sound a bit harsh, but suck it up! Thin is in and Fat is Out is a slogan that needs to go right back out the door with the aerobics instructor that brought it in. Sure, if you have a weight problem, you know you have a weight problem. It is not something you don't have the intelligence to see. See Barbie, while you were on the beach with Ken, the fat chics were getting an education! Being overweight is still considered one of the biggest sins someone can do to their own bodies , but what about the people out there with true medical problems that prevent them from being thin.? They still fall into the thin person's stereotype of a FAT LAZY person?

The sad truth is that people who are exceptionally overweight allow others to ridicule them about their weight. The misconceptions that people who are overweight won't work, are overall lazy people, unhappy, unattractive is a load of bull.

Some of the most beautiful women in the world are either overweight now or have been at some time in their life. LOOK AT OPRAH! She is gorgeous, but she wasn't always the size she is now, but she was still a pretty happy woman, not to mention a huge success. If you look in the "heftier women magazines" you will find more beautiful women than what you find on the runways of New York, it's a fact.

The fact is that "grown-ups" still act like children to get ahead in life. It really is the "take the camera off of me and point it over there at someone else" approach. Think of your girlfriends. You likely have one in the bunch that is as cute and prissy as can be, but whenever she isn't getting the attention from the opposite sex, she will inevitably draw attention to your weight. Don't pay it a second thought and here's why. Even though you could get into a dirt throwing contest and bring out all of her faults, (for example that she really wears a lot of make-up because she needs it!) there's no point because it really doesn't matter. So you might be overweight, big deal, you are a beautiful person inside and out. Can anyone thin top that?

While you may think that a yeast infection is a women’s problem and the only people that can sympathize with you are other females, think again! (...)

While you may think that a yeast infection is a women’s problem and the only people that can sympathize with you are other females, think again! There’s definitely such a thing as male yeast infections and, while a lot less common than yeast infections in women, there are quite a few men out there who can sympathize with your burning, itching discomfort. They just don’t talk about it with each other, and most likely won’t talk to you about it either – stubborn pride, of course!

While we can make plenty of jokes about your husband or boyfriend being ‘in the closet’ with his male yeast infection, it really isn’t a laughing matter for someone who’s suffering in silence. More than that, it’s very important to realize is that yeast infections are transmissible from one person to another so if you’ve recently suffered from one, you may want to talk to your man about the symptoms of a male yeast infection, or better yet, leave this article where he can see it. He’ll most likely do some spot checking in private, but he’ll also probably be relieved to know that his penis won’t fall off and that a quick trip to the pharmacy can help cure his woes.

Honey, It Looks Like This

The symptoms of a male yeast infection are the same as for females. A burning sensation, itching that doesn’t ease up, a red rash around the head and tip of the penis and some discharge are common symptoms. Sometimes, small spots can be a sign. A male yeast infection can have all these symptoms or none at all. If your hubby isn’t sure as to whether he has a male yeast infection or not, he should treat himself anyways. It’s far safer for him to slap on some cream than to let it go and be sorry later on down the line. Treatment is as simple as an over-the-counter antifungal cream and after about 5 to 7 days of treatment, your man should be all clear.

Transmission of yeast infections goes both ways, so if you’ve recently treated yourself for a yeast infection and it’s all cleared up, you’d be best to make sure that your ‘other half’ checks out clean as well. A male yeast infection can be passed right back to you, and you and your mate can end up in a vicious circle of tag. Do note that while the most common reason of a male yeast infection is sexual transmission, there are other sources of the illness. Antibiotics use, diabetes and sensitivity to nonoxynol-9 are other agents that may cause male yeast infections, so try to eliminate those possibilities as well.

Vitamins are important elements for every vital organ in our body. We usually get them from the food we eat but sometimes they are not enough, so we need to supplement them with quality vitamins. (...)

Vitamins are important elements for every vital organ in our body. We usually get them from the food we eat but sometimes they are not enough, so we need to supplement them with quality vitamins.

An iron vitamin supplement is one of the bodies fundamental vitamins and vitally important, even more so in women. It is available from plants, walnuts, grains, animal products, red meat, liver and eggs. The human body absorbs iron from the last four sources most easily.

Some of the warning signs that you may be low on iron and need to use an iron vitamin supplement are as follows.

* Dizzy spells
* Head rushes and “white dots” in your vision when you stand up quickly.
* You feel weak and faint
* Headaches more then usual

The above are only some of the warning signs and you should always see your doctor if you are having these symptoms.

The following people have additional iron needs:

Pregnant Women

Pregnant women use iron at a much higher rate and may need iron vitamin supplements. The reason for this is that Iron is a component of the hemoglobin of the erythrocytes that provide oxygen to all cells in the body. During the pregnancy the quantity of the erythrocytes is higher because of the increased need of oxygen and respectively the need of iron increases.

The other time when women lose lots of iron is during their monthly period. But it is not so bad, because this loss is compensated by the process called resorption.

Babies and kids

Babies and kids are growing fast and there is increase in their blood volume that is why they need a lot of iron and possibly an iron vitamin supplement in their daily intake. They can be supplied with enough iron if they eat a wide variety of fruits, grains and meats.

Vegetarians

To be a vegetarian means to remove all meat sources from their daily diets. Iron can be gained through various leafy vegetables and soy products but it is quite common for vegetarians to have iron deficiencies. It is good practice for very strict vegetarians to visit your doctor regularly to have your iron levels checked.

Another large group that may be at risk of low iron levels are heavy dieters. Certain diets require that you cut food groups out of your diet. If you are not careful and stay on these diets for a long period of time then you may be at risk of iron deficiency.

A simple iron vitamin supplement can counter this effect and keep your iron levels up.

Fitness centers are everywhere in today’s society, and the reason for this is we, as a society, are obsessed with fitness and weight loss. (...)

Fitness centers are everywhere in today’s society, and the reason for this is we, as a society, are obsessed with fitness and weight loss. Right after the first of the year, when everyone is making their new year’s resolution, the fitness center industry is abounding with new customers. People everywhere want to lose weight after months of holiday eating.

Around April, however, those people who were excited and motivated to lose wait quickly return to their old ways. After April, the fitness center industry sees a drop in its overall member attendance, and the sad truth is that many people continue to pay fitness center dues and never go. Here are a few tips on choosing the right fitness center, and how to keep up the motivation that seems to deteriorate around springtime.

Lengthy Commitments

Finding a good fitness center shouldn’t be difficult since they are everywhere in today’s society, but finding one that you’ll constantly want to go to is a different story. When deciding if a fitness center is for you, examine the membership terms. How much will you truly commit to? Don’t sign up for a five year fitness center membership if you’re not going to commit to it. A club membership will lock you into a commitment that you will have to pay off whether you attend or not, so don’t commit to what you won’t do.

Month to Month

If you’re not sure of how long you’ll commit, ask your local fitness center if you can pay month to month. That way, you won’t be locked into a contract, and you will only pay if you go.

Closer is Better

The second thing to consider when finding a good fitness center is how easy it is to get there. You aren’t going to want to drive thirty miles to and from the center to work out every day or even three times per week. Find a center that’s near to you that’s easy to get to. The easier it is to get there, the more likely you are to keep up your health and fitness regimen.

When finding a good fitness center, you should only choose one that offers a plan you will stick to, one that’s close enough to get to that you won’t feel inconvenienced, and you should only choose one that you feel comfortable going to. Health and fitness can be fun if you make it that way. Do find a good health club, do commit to a good health and fitness program, and, whatever you do, don’t attending just because it’s springtime. April showers may bring May flowers but, apparently, they also spark laziness in people who quickly forget about their new year’s resolution. Don’t be one of those people – decide now that you want to improve your life, and seek out a fitness center near you.

Menopause is dreaded by all women not because it is the phase of life that marks the end of the fertility era of a woman, but because it brings so much upheaval both mentally and physically. The early menopause symptoms include hot flushes, wild and unexplained mood swings and irregular periods, heavy or scant bleeding and night sweats among others.

Recognizing the Onset of Menopause

As with all the physical developments in a human body, menopause too has a particular set time for setting in. Menopause usually starts around 45 to 50 years and hence the early menopause symptoms will be manifested around this age. Similar to the onset of puberty, the onset of menopause can be pretty confusing and distressing to those who are not prepared for it. Hence, the key to handling menopause is to know what it is about.

The Early Menopause Symptoms

Among the first signs is the irregularity of the menstrual circle. What was once coming once in a month will not manifest itself two and three times a month. In some cases it will altogether stop for 3-4 months and then start again like nothing happened. This occurs usually at 45-47 years of age, though it has been seen to happen as late as 50 years of age in some cases.

Understanding Depression

The early menopause or pre-menopause period is characterized by unpredictable and unexplained mood swings. Medically it is explained by the depletion of estrogen in the blood, since the ovaries are shutting down. This is why; it is recommended that women who have acute depression attacks take HRT or hormone replacement therapy to counteract it. However, it is important to take this medication only under medical supervision as hormones can play havoc with the body if the right balance is not achieved.

Taking Action with the Right Weapons

There are a lot of alternatives to medication to combat the symptoms of menopause and their efficiency differs from woman to woman. In order to find the best alternative for you, you need first to know what alternatives are available. You may use visit the doctor, the library and of course the Internet for this purpose. There is plenty of documentation around to give you information on menopause. In order to adapt to this change, you have to be fully informed. Ensure that you know what to do, much before the time comes so you can identify the early menopause symptoms and stay in charge of your life.

Do you believe in health freedom?

So does Ron Paul

Ron Paul is also the only candidate who believes in health freedom. All the other candidates would support the status quo in health care today: Big Pharma dominance, FDA censorship, monopoly prices in medicine and the assault and imprisonment of individuals who dare to tell the truth about the healing properties of the superfoods and nutritional supplements they sell. The other candidates may talk about "reforms," but all they're really talking about is a shell game of shifting who pays for all disease in this country.

Only Ron Paul believes in genuine health freedom. He's the creator of the Health Freedom Protection Act, a bill that would reestablish Free Speech provisions for makers of superfoods, herbs, nutritional supplements and other natural remedies. Under the HFPA, those individuals would be able to state scientifically-validated facts about the health benefits of their products right on the bottle! Today, the FDA doesn't allow that. All truthful statements about nutritional supplements are presently censored! (It's a way to protect Big Pharma and keep the American people ignorant about how plant-based medicines can prevent and even cure degenerative disease.)

If elected, Ron Paul would work to restore genuine health freedom in this country, giving consumers access to accurate, scientifically-validated information about how cherries can ease arthritis inflammation, for example, or how pomegranates can prevent prostate cancer, or how broccoli sprouts can prevent breast cancer. There are thousands of healing medicines in plant (herbs, foods, superfoods, etc.), and the public currently isn't being allowed to know about any of their benefits. It's a state of outright censorship promoted by the Big Pharma / FDA criminal partnership, and Ron Paul is the only candidate with a realistic shot at winning who would put an end to it.

It is extremely and utterly important to understand your cholesterol level, for many reasons. (...)

It is extremely and utterly important to understand your cholesterol level, for many reasons. One of the most primary reasons would be because having a high cholesterol level can make you extremely prone to such things as heart attacks and strokes. Although obesity is one of the most obvious symptoms or reasons to high cholesterol, just because you are not overweight this does not mean that your cholesterol level is proper.

Understanding Your Cholesterol Level

There are many things that you need to take into consideration when you are trying to learn about and understand your cholesterol level, such as for instance the fact that there are both good and bad types of cholesterol. There is HDL cholesterol, which is considered as being the good type of cholesterol, and then there is LDL cholesterol which is considered as being the bad form of cholesterol.

Basically you can be put into either one of three categories: desirable, borderline risk, or high risk. If your total cholesterol is less than 200mg/dL, then you are considered as being in the desirable category, and your risk of heart attack is relatively low, unless of course you have other risk factors that are involved.

If your cholesterol is in between 200 and 239mg/dL, then you are considered as being in the borderline risk category, and about a third of all people end up in this category. If you are in this category, you should have your cholesterol checked at least once a year, especially if your HDL is less than 40mg/dL and/or you don’t have other risk factors for heart disease.

Finally, if your cholesterol level is 240mg/dL or more, then you are considered as being in the high risk category and your risk of heart attack and stroke is incredibly heightened. As well, you have twice the risk of other coronary problems, and so you must take your situation incredibly seriously.

Basically the key point to remember here is that the lower your LDL cholesterol, the lower your total cholesterol level will be, and so you should take all of the possible measures that you can in order to keep your LDL cholesterol as low as you can. Then, if you find that you are not able to lower your cholesterol with these measures, medications may also be prescribed in order to assist you in this process.
